In other words, I write; a variety of forms and formats; often on issues of environmental and social concern; ideally with the goal of producing something moving, that moves or contributes to (a) movement. This writing has taken form in books, narrative journalism, educational materials, literary writing (fiction poetry & essay), agit-prop, interviews, documentation, web content, curriculum, bloggery, and on…
In addition: I advocate, organize, mobilize, and participate: I am the Communications Director for Global Justice Ecology Project, a Fellow of the Oakland Institute; on the boards of various non-profits, and active in numerous loose formations/coalitions/networks and cabals.

My consultancy work falls broadly into two areas:
* communications and media strategy
* popular education for community resilience.
My work promotes causes and organizations that are politically progressive, ecologically aware, devoted to principles of equity and empowerment, and seeking alliance with larger movements for social change and transformative development. I am currently devoting a considerable amount of my work hours to coordinating media operations for Global Justice Ecology Project; this role involves collaboration with many like-minded groups, on both partnership and fee-for-service basis. * Popular educational training and workshop facilitation for community resilience
* Media outreach, strategic messaging and communications consulting (I work with Design Action Collective to provide full-service messaging and design for newsletters and other organizational and movement vehicles, and with Global Justice Ecology Project to partner on media support for climate justice.
* Reporting and documentation
* Editing, editorial consulting, copy writing, proofreading, and Spanish-English translation
